Idunno, I think voice acting might kind of ruin some of it for me, because when it's just text you sort of get to infer your own voices for the characters, as well as the inflection and emphasis on certain words that you can't really represent with just text. Sort of, in a way, it makes the characters more like "yours" because you get to make up this stuff. If it's voiced, you lose that.

Also I simply cannot and will not imagine Cave Story 3D. It just sounds like a bad idea, 3D technology has nothing on good handmade sprites in my opinion.

Ballos: A voice similar to Scar from The Lion King.

Scar, I don't agree, I think it sounds too evil and snarly. You need some Jimmy Earl Jones there, that's what I say.

I imagine Balrog with a cheesy British voice. I blame it on all his Huzzahs.

I think of the Doctor with just... a mad scientist-type voice? I don't know.

I imagine Misery's the same way WoodenRat does,

Yeah, that's all for now.

But why the hell would a character portrayed as a little girl speak in a sexy, seductive voice?

Well, in the good ending she's portrayed as being a "grown woman" with the 2-tile-height like Kazuma, Date and Momorin, the "adults" in the game. I guess everyone who's 1 tile in height is either supposed to be a child, a little mimiga or an... adolescent-looking robot. Or an old person who's grown shorter again in their age.

I dunno if Misery's supposed to be a little girl or just "small" as some sort of weird side-effect of being an eternal pawn to the Demon Crown, though. Either way, she's pretty old regardless, so even if she's supposed to "look" like a child who's to say she's supposed to sound like one?

Okay, maybe "little girl" was the wrong choice of words, but more like adolescent or pre-adolescent (just in form) who really, really acts like it.

I think for some reason (possibly because of the Demon Crown's effects) she shrunk to the same size as Quote. The good ending only subverts this.

I've always imagined Misery sounding like Bastilla from Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.(Do I have to explain?)

The Doctor's voice should sound deep and calm. Kinda fits him.

And, obviously, Ballos' voice should sound deep, booming, and powerful, like everyone says...

Curly would probably sound like GlaDOS from Portal only less electronic/computerized/robotic, and less deeper.

I just had the craziest idea.

What if Ballos had a black dude's voice?

That's what I always thought. In my head he's James Earl Jones.
I still think Quote is Microsoft Sam.

Balrog would probably have the same voice as Gilgamesh. Think about it. Both of them are Large Hams (for more info see the TV Tropes article). Need I say more?

*Ahem*

Nah, think it'd be a bigger ham if you didn't have to look him up.
