For a moment I thought I was on a fake page. I hadn't read the announcement about the page's status, but why would they have chosen the .one domain? I don't know yet.

I knew the .xyz domain from pirate websites that occasionally had many viruses, unless the creator could afford a domain like .com or .net (which someone else possibly acquired).I think that .one domain is better than .xyz domain. I would scared if it were like that

Okay, I understand. Choosing a domain that isn't controlled by the US was a good decision. I will miss the .org domain of the site since it represented the game's music format. It was just one of the few non-country-specific domain thingies that isn't controlled by the usa (apparently the country-specific ones have search results suppressed outside the relevant country, so not ideal)

The forum hasn't changed its domain, which I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's good to remember what the original domain of the tribute page was.Ngl I didn't even realize that happened. I'm so used to the forums being my homepage for literal years.
It hasn't changed changed its domain yet. It will happen when I get around to doing it. And on that note... https://forum.cavestory.org/threads/changing-the-forum-domain.18219/The forum hasn't changed its domain, which I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's good to remember what the original domain of the tribute page was.

Now I understand everything, thanks for the clarification! Just make sure that when you change the forum's domain, it can automatically redirect if someone types it with .org, like on the Tribute website. I wish you luck, you're the best admin! (That I know from this community)I moved hosts and switched to a different domain registrar as well.
The .one tld registry is based in Denmark, the new domain registrar (Nordname) is based in Finland, the new hosting provider (UpCloud) is also based in Finland, and the server is physically located in Denmark. Finland and Denmark are amongst the highest-ranked countries in terms of internet freedom.

Me too...
The goofy US and it's goofy internet laws! Though it does make me wonder if the .one domain costs more than the .org domain.

I can't tell you because it depends. The .org domain is generally more expensive than the .one domain. The goofy US and it's goofy internet laws! Though it does make me wonder if the .one domain costs more than the .org domain.
Pretty sure that .one costs more. That said... domain registration costs are negligible compared to hosting costs, so I'm not exactly losing sleep over it.I can't tell you because it depends. The .org domain is generally more expensive than the .one domain.
