this is an edited recipe of chocolate chip cookie recipe I got from a high school chem book. personally I've found them to be one of the best homemade cookies you can make, and I wanted to see what everyone thought.
Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/3 sticks unsalted butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/3 ( more if you so desire ) cups chocolate chips ( m&n's, chocolate chunks, or a mix of those )

(this amount of ingredients only makes about 24 good size cookies, you can double the amounts to make more.)

Instructions

soften your butter

preheat oven to 350 degrees F (preferably on convection bake)

mix sugars and butter till smooth

add egg, salt, vanilla and mix well

stir in baking soda, flour, and chocolate chips.

bake 12 good size cookies for 9 minutes on convection bake (10 on regular bake)

the only real things I edited from the recipe is the replacement of margerine with butter, and the time in the oven.

for those of you who have good recipes that you want to share, go ahead and share

Not to burst your bubble or anything.
But
These are forums.
For Cave Story.
So let me ask this question:
"Why do we need a recipe for chocolate chip cookies to have their own forums page when this, and this exists?"

Probably a good recipe, but still, not the best place to post a recipe of all things
The second 'this' implies that you could use your profile to post this recipe, instead of creating an entirely new page

Nadojin do you have a problem with the sharing of delicious cookie recipes?
As for me, I've got quite a wonderful recipe that was made by my grannie and edited by my mom, but I'll need to take the time to dig out the recipe so I can show it to you guys.

It's not the sharing of recipes that bothers me, it's the medium in which he chooses to share them.
Actually, you know what fuck it, this is the satellite lounge, he's entitled to post what he wants.
I have a feeling this thread may fill with cookie recipes in due time...

remember that time I made a whole thread about sandwiches
that was great

anyway I don't have the faculties to give this a run atm but I might try it eventually and let you know what I think. I am a discriminating consumer of cookies.

I love cookies with all of my soul, but I have very little baking experience - far less than I'd like :( - and my family is not exactly the type to keep nice cookie recipes around. Or to bake cookies. Or to bake.

I am useless in my passion :<

That actually sounds really good (I loooooove cookies). My family's oven recently got fixed so trying it would be possible. Not sure what 'sticks of butter' is equivalent to...time to look that up!

normally when I buy butter, they come in these small bars, those are known as sticks of butter.

heres a picture of one wrapped

Well hey alright. I think I know what I'll be doing for the next hour. Don't let me down, George.

I think you may want to change this to "1 1/3 sticks unsalted butter," as that's the kind of butter you'd normally be using in recipes like this (especially since you've already included salt as an ingredient).

your right, I'll fix that up.

( I can't believe I almost forgot about the existence of salted butter )

Making them now, and I just now see that you didn't even mention what to do with the egg. I'll just put it in before the flour I guess.

...

OK, here they are:
HNI_0082_zps0d4bd3cd.jpg

I used white chips instead of chocolate chips. I like white chocolate better.
I needed to keep them in the oven a few minutes longer than you said, but that was about the only problem I found. Great cookies!

Usually you separate the dry ingredients from the wet. Flour and sugar first, then the eggs, vanilla, etc. Unless it asks for butter fluffing ofc
