I can definitely instruct you on compiling it for Linux, but if you don't mind trusting me with your source code, I could also just compile it myself (and then send that to you, so you can show off your mod's cross-platform compatibility).

I also might, at some point, make a GitLab-CI script to automatically compile CS2E mods for all platforms, so it becomes as easy as just using git and GitLab (which you probably should anyway: version control software is extremely helpful).

 

1.41 is released, refactoring timers and cooldowns into new cooldown system, reworking miracle matter list into dynamic array, adding two new Miracle Weapons and doing other balance changes.

Ok right, you *can* cross-compile CSE2. Looks like you may need to just make a second toolchain file that tells it "yes please do the Linux stuff" and it should just work (since CSE2 already supports the OS). This should have all the info you need on making one, and has an example at the top as well.

 

okay I got what you meant to say but while you were gone, DouRandamu got private GitHub repo (and public organization with useful links like issue tracker and guides), and GitHub has Actions. I already have experience with that from setting up automatic compilation of Summoning PD to GitHub, itch.io and Google Play, so getting one to work with Randamu shouldn't be too difficult.

I actually wanted to release 1.43.1 recently (but was distracted), with balance changes I felt that were necessary after several runs after releasing. I guess few more digital Gaudis are waiting to be smashed now!

Yeah, the crafted Gatling Gun was way too overpowered making it too easy, especially for Resonant. Thanks for adjusting it.

Just a little heads up, I have been receiving emails from GitHub that my bunch of reported bugs are now being examined on this day. Much has been fixed. Version 1.44 is on its way soon.

Love the new release so far, the 2nd Campaign new worlds and new music are amazing!

Enemies spawned by other enemies or bosses are worth 0 (zero). Defeating the Depth 10 Boss, 2nd Campaign Bosses and the Final Boss are also worth 0.

1.44.2, dedicated to Cave Story Modding Community's ModGala 2024, has been released, fixing over 20 bugs and issues from all over 2024 and rebalancing some equipment, that I saw underperforming in voice chat streams.

Hello. The next version 1.45 is coming real soon. All my bugs and issues reported, especially that random freeze by a specific seed (in one sitting/session and on Fullscreen and Resonant difficulty), have been fixed.

By the post in the Doukutsu Randamu itch.io page "7000 downloads!" the 1.45 update will release on or before February 17, 2025, the day the game first appeared on itch.io 3 years ago. Mark your calendars.

(If a beta or a release candidate were to be released, that would be appreciated as I can test to make sure the bugs reported don't happen, and to have several flawless plays before the official release. Of course, it's worth the wait for an official because I also play and test as well, even if there's no beta.)

The game crashed on the beta...

I have found a crash that happens when you fire any weapon on a 2nd Campaign Boss (major boss). It has been reported on GitHub.
EDIT 2/10/2025: The crash has been fixed as with my other issues. 1.45 Beta 2 is out now.
EDIT 2/12/2025: 1.45 Beta 3 released. Fixes some old issues, an open chest generated on Curly runs and the Omega and Balfrog bosses.

By the way, you can customize or even put new characters into the game in 'data/Characters' directory. Be sure to edit 'order.txt' to add the name of the character (max 8 letters) anywhere in a line. Study the 'data.json' of physics, sounds, immunity frames, chest blacklists, starting health, weapons, items, max life capsules and description lines.

 

1.45 has been released, dedicated to Randamu's third anniversary, adding ability to add custom characters and customize items with resource overloads, majorly buffing Frontier Buster, adding a new summon item and heaps of QoL, and resolving some more gameplay and stability issues!
