I still want to add the freckles but i really dont know how.

edit: I added one last touch. I gave him blue eyes like mine.

edit 2: Again made a small tweak. by adding a darker shade of red at the bottonm of the bluetooth headset. Thanks to lunar soul.

edit 3: Low health sprites added courtesy of cripplechair.

If you ask me, the sprites are too small for freckles.

Ooh, nice one Lunar!
And Marx, I agree with Lunar. Trying to draw freckles on a 16x16 sprite would end up looking like a horrible skin condition. And that's not a commentary on freckles, I've got 'em myself :muscledoc:

Good to know the base is getting some good use. :muscledoc:

Question: Should we implement the second half of the spritesheet (the half normally used for the mimiga mask) into the game somehow? At the smallest they could be alternate costumes, either different clothes or a human version like Jed's. Or, we could implement something more substantial; they could indicate some status of the character, like being at dangerous/critical health or wielding some special upgrade (someone suggested a capsule that draws in the fallen bits from enemies, maybe that could be slapped on the person's back).

Well maybe we could put special power ups where we get special upgrades and use that to represent the change. Or use them as alternate costumes. And make a sort of costume select. The game starts in a lone room, in here there are two doors and depending on wich you go through changes wich costume you use.

Reminds me of how you choose shells from Teterraro, except it's only cosmetic.

Or... hm. What if you choose between two versions at the start, and each has slightly different perks? Like the mimiga version can jump higher, and the human has a little more health or something, I dunno.

Hm... it could be an evil version of the character for when you have insta-kill.

Hey, how would we do a melle weapon? I was thinking a little knife slashes oyt in front of you when you press "w". We could use one of the many Bullets in Cave Story not already designated to a weapoon.

@Oolie: Yes. We must all have one, it shall be included in a sub folder.

I dunno about specifically needing to be -evil- per se, but I wouldn't necessarily be against a powered up version. Though to be honest, I like the critical health idea more to signal "DUDE, YOU'RE GONNA DIE, START PLAYING IT SAFE"

Well as you know im not a good spriter so i cant really do anything else as im not skilled enough. So ill just go right ahead and make a request for someone to make me the alternate costume if it ends up used for some power up.

I vote for the death signal, it sounds more helpful and unique.
Although it'll require some ASM.
