Wow... This is unexpected. I thought that they completely scrapped the idea of porting Cave Story Wii to PC/Mac.

Anyway, I am glad that they are adding more later with updates.

I guess I could have seen this coming though. I know that they have mentioned that they have some "secret projects" on their Twitter feed, but this is probably the last thing I expected.

As for whether or not I would actually buy it... This could be the first thing I download when I get a better computer.

Just don't add achievements. I don't need a big, bulging banner saying, "YOU DID (or) GOT STUF! Here's some useless points and a tiny picture documenting you're useless, pointless 'achievement!'"

Nicalis' decision to not let you remake the PC version of Cave Story with 2x graphics makes a lot more sense now.

the backgrounds and tiles are meshed up randomly, save for hell, which looks untampered with, and there are some sort of new curly-ish enemies

This might make me want to go on steam, considering I usually never go on. Some of the new stuff sound fun, I think this looks really cool and totally unexpected O_O
To be honest though, I think I have played too much of the original Cave Story. So many saves!

And I don't think those robots could be anything like Gaudis. They are holding guns.

The screenshots look incredible. I hope the steam version comes out promptly. It looks so different, maybe some of the people who think graphics is all that matters will buy it. Maybe. Most likely not.

I'm guessing you've never gotten an achievement on Steam before. Don't worry, maybe some day you will do it!

Anyway, can't wait for the PC release. Good thing it'll only take a few hours to beat, because there are enough damn releases this fall even if I weren't going to Massachussets and watch the hell out of Desert Bus.

I would get a Mac if Steve Jobs didn't step down from his post... wait that train of logic didn't make much sense.

Looks interesting. As sexplosive pointed out earlier, the enemies remind me too much of Curly, so I may not want to fire at them. :rolleyes:
