I honestly don't care about achievvements, as I am only a Wii and DS owner. They are meant to add extra replayability BUT CAVE STORY is one of the few games I have played over and over... and over MANY TIMES.
That
Achievements are the means of a video game telling you "No, you aren't a godly adventurer on a mysterious island. You're a sack of crap sitting at home on your couch, eating potato chips."
It's been said time and time again how horrible achievements are; and every last word of it is true. It's the developers way of milking every last little drop of game play out of the game, just to increase the size of your ego. And it's there for no reason but to break the ambiance of the game, and destroy the flow. There is no reward but an electronic piece of text saying 'you did this', so you yourself don't have to remember it.
If you want achievements, just draw a smiley face on your TV screen every time you die.
ACHIEVEMENT: Dead men blind.
