I know this will sound like the same thing but what I ment was - is there a way to make it like in Ventrilo or teamspeak where you have to keep TAB or any other key pressed to talk? The muting/unmuting sucks since there are small delays between the mutes (they're small, but significant) so this isn't exactly the same thing.

No, because Skype is for teleconferencing and chatting between friends. It's not designed for gaming, which puts its useablility at a slight disadvantage. I just want to use Skype because it's free and surprisingly lag-free, so you really have to consider the trade-offs with Vent and Skype.

Also consider that this isn't exactly a competitive gaming thing, we're just talking together well we happen to be playing a game we all enjoy.

CptFab: i never see any lag on Vent and TS unless my computer itself is lagging. you have different?
