Oh yeah!
It appears there is yet ANOTHER humble indie bundle...

Most importantly, I noticed Cave Story+ is included, IF you pay more than the average price!
This means it will run on PC, MAC, and Linux. WITHOUT DRM!

And, even without having to have Steam loaded/be online! Horray Huzzah!

To get it, pay more than the average PC price which for me was 4.55$ at the time I got it. It'll be on sale for two weeks.
Here's an official video with more information :

There's something else... the music... is different...

EDIT: I ran into a problem when I first tried to start it; It was missing the dll's : SDL.dll, msvcr100.dll, msvcp100.dll
After getting them and copying them, it ran fine. Also, under compatiblity I checked start 640x480; and it runs great on my PC :pignon2:

Bought the whole thing for $5.25, even though I already got CS+ on Steam.

Planning to pay more to gift the pack for friend(s) for xmas.

EDIT: Indeed, the standalone version seems to have a "Remastered" option for music along New and Original. And it seems like it's the CS3D soundtrack...?

Well balls. Cave Story+ isn't getting this, too?

Beats me. Its presence here is quite the mystery in the first place. The third soundtrack wasn't advertised anywhere to my knowledge.

That should be it.

It's the stand-alone version of the game you download from the HIB site.

Maybe CS+ will be updated with it later or something? There was word of free DLC/updates.

Great deal. Mines doesnt seem to work though. It claimed it didnt have SDL.dl, then when i got it for it, it said it was the wrogn one. Or, in its words,

"The procedure entry point SDL_strlcat could not be located in the dynamic link library SDL.dll."

There is also one other neat trick.
With the remastered music, the tracks are composed of two parts/files, intro and loop.
If you make an empty ogg file for the intro, and replace the loop file with your own music, it actually works!
I also tried it with the "new" songs, but they just crashed the game for me.

Now, somebody who has too much time can make a patch to replace the music with the remix project songs.
Sadly, I don't have that much time :\

Well that's just great >_>
Now Cave Story 3D is totally worthless, and I'm really wanting Cave Story+. I may actually check it out, now.

Ah, so Cave Story+ will have Danny B's remastered tracks?
This bundle may be worth paying for even if there is an update for Steam.

Also, does anybody know if they fixed the looping for the WiiWare tracks yet?

I figure it should be fine to link the dlls, otherwise I can just remove.
http://www.host-a.net/u/X-Calibar/DLLs.zip (646KB)

I'm also downloading the game again to see if their update (80MB) adds the dlls~
EDIT: Yep! If you download the latest version that will have the missing dlls.
Not sure if anything else is changed...

I just noticed two things...

1) Cave Story+ crashes on my mac mini, even though I do have the minimum requirements (ok, the 64MB display memory is shared from RAM, and I have no idea if that's the problem). Also, I'll have to admit, my mac is acting funny in more ways than that nowadays, it just might be high time for re-install.

Edit: ok, seems like something is really borked with my display drivers or something. Hopefully it's not a hardware problem...

2) The image of Quote in the download page (which you can see only if you have a purchase key) at the humblebundle.com links to... http://www.cavestory.org ... No. I'm not kidding you.

Use this:
http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.14-win32.zip

Unzip and paste it into the same folder as your Cave Story exe and let me know how it goes. If you downloaded the SDL runtime from anywhere else you could get stuck with old releases or trojans without knowing it, keep this in mind.

It's not all that surprising considering the amount of emails I get from people who think that cavestory.org is an official site and asking for a sequel, or a port to any system under the sun, or a copy of CS+ for a review, or to sell their art services, or permission to do a lets play, or selling their writing skills, or permission to use the soundtrack, and by Pixel I could go on. -_-;

Nah. I'm considering rewriting the contact page instead.
