Cave Story flash?!

And you could use image sheets in flash;
just copy and paste in the images, and press Ctrl + B.
The image will become editable, or you could make some sort of
stop-motion thing in Flash, it really depends.

Well, I was not planning to do sprites, so if I wanted to make anything bigger, it would look like carp. Dead, gutted, carp.

 

I've done animation with sprites... it's a bad idea. Just stick to cartoons.
By the way, if we can't get any artists, I could probably draw things... but it would take a while and wouldn't look as pretty.

Every visual project that used Cave Story's sprites as a medium failed. Find me one example proving me wrong, and I'll admit you have a point.
But you don't have to prove anything to me. Whatever.

How about we be original and make an actual animation out of a 2-D video game, instead of just using sprites?

 

It will be like that new pencil-drawn comic, only colorful and not doing the same story that 2 other comics and a game have already done.

 

I wouldn't mind pitching in for the project. I've some experience in Flash CS3, and know some Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0.
I can also do some voice work, but I'd rather leave it to those who fit the characters. Well, not sure who I'd fit lol. Generic silly person?

I don't think it's been done before: a flash animation centered around Cave Story.

Do you mean, is the idea serious or silly?

Well I can't say that cause it's really up to whoever is making it. It doesn't have to be completely true to what actually happens in the game but generally it's easier to do that.

It all really depends on how detailed you want the animation to be, wether you prefer the movements to be individually drawn or motion tweened, really varies

 

I agree with Jacob, I want it to look nice. I also want to animate a boss fight that would look great in Flash animation, so not Monster X. I'd like to do the Core, personally.
Now, since we want a pretty cartoon, we need an artist. If it's an artist who can animate then I suppose I won't be needed for animation, but anyone who can draw in vector programs would help.

 

It should be a combination: a funny flash without interrupting the story in any major way.

 

I leave this thread at page 3 and come back with 8 pages of stupid bickering.

The animation that I was planning on making is serious. In fact, my hopes are to try and go through the whole game. Yes it is a daunting task, but Rome wasn't built in a day. I have the first part all planned out already so I'll try and get animating on that ASAP.

Btw this is my animation and I'm doing it. If anyone is opposed, shut up and make your own flash. Anyone for it, we'd be glad to have extra help.

Edit: No this will not be a sprite movie and will all be hand-drawn.

 

Ive seen flashes that are both serious and silly so I think it should be both.

 

And cerealkiller doesn't care what you think.
