A very quick Quote I did for a 1 hour art challenge. The theme was indie games. How could I not represent Cave Story?

Just one recommendation regarding shading: you need to choose a direction for your light source and use it consistently throughout the image.

 

I tried doing my profile picture from scratch, in higher resolution.

I forgot the headpiece, one boot looks wonky, the tree doesn't make sense. But I still think I'm fairly satisfied with how it turned out.

Edit: Kero Blaster doodle! I don't know how to draw grass.

Oops. Looks like the machine still can't get human form to stick for Sue. And right in the middle of school no less! i did this one for a 1 hour art challenge, so forgive the sloppy background.

 

Committing thread necromancy for more fanart. Looks like Sue has had it with being the damsel and is taking matters into her own hands.

Sue does look pretty... disgruntled lol. I remember a few years ago I would always do fan art of cave story, but sadly, I misplaced it. I would always do sprites and items, and occasionally the characters themselves. I even did sprites on Minecraft of Quote and Curly

 

Balrog sprite I had made a couple months back. It's not all that good to me, but I'm dropping it here anyway because I figured you guys would like it.

 

This took on the order of eight months because I've been getting, like, half an hour of free time every other day or so. Whatever. How is it?

Hey, this is really good! The drawings have an impressive amount of detail, the different kinds of shots are really well done, and I love the way that it made that brief exchange in the game into a more meaningful, emotional, and almost cinematic confrontation. I would love to see more of these.

Thank you for the kind words! You really made my day. I was going for a cinematic feel, and I'm glad to hear it turned out alright.
I wish I could do more, but I have no time. Exam season is drawing near. :'(

And I love it! I really liked that comic too. That's a pretty funny parody of that line that the Doctor speaks right before you battle him.

Just for fun, got carried away wanting to test a self made 4k cave story mychar.

He needs help but it would be interesting to see everything properly redrawn for 4k cave story lol

 

Not bad, X-Calibar. There's room for more detail in some areas, but I like the concept that you're trying out. The details on the face and eyes are pretty good. What could potentially use some more work is the antenna and feet.

 

4K Cave Story would be very interesting to see, I hope you don't tire yourself out in case you decide to make a project out of it! ^_^
