Also I would shade the eyelids if I were you, it looks weird going from shadowed eyes to unshadowed eyelids, assuming they are not completely flat.

I didn't realize it until you said so, but you're right. When I go back to fix the feet, I'll fix his eyelids in the blink animation.

I'm not sure whether I should just darken the whole area a shade or two or actually attempt rounded shading. I'll try both and see what looks better.

Edit: They appear to be mostly flat, so I am not sure whether shading is necessary.

not bad. throw in some shading, doesnt matter where. it always makes a picture look better.

Good, though I'd be careful about adding lighted spots on a character, it's always a bit risky. Sure, it's a part of shading, but sometimes it looks good to just darken certain parts.

 

You should watch out for pillow shading, I'm seeing it esp. with the first picture.
