Okay. If Gordon and AAKid are the same guy online, then that implies that they are both aliases for a single person. If Gordon and AAKid are two distinct people in real life, then that implies that Gordon is an alias for one person and AAKid is an alias for another person. The two statements are, therefore, mutually exclusive. They can't both be true.

(Oh, and as far as logic is concerned "but" is the same as "and".)

Basically the meaning behind it was that they both have the same personality online but are not physically the same person in real life. I am not claiming that to be true though, in fact I very much believe that Gordon IS AAKid.
