The 3D bubbles were kinda ugly, truthfully. ):

It can look good if done right.

Alright then. No 3d bubbles unless needed (like invincible comic panel =P)
I re linked them. They work for me now. I don't know if they're still broken now o.o;

Thanks to your constructive criticism people I feel like I'm going to get bettah! Yay Improvements! =D!! (I'm also learning by watching the bubbles o.o)

Well this may help:
tutorial.gif

Lines are 1px, default font size is 12px, text cannot touch the edges of the bubbles.

After all of the shapes are done you must select all of them and...

In Photoshop:
Right click on the selected layers and choose "group into new smart object".

In Fireworks:
Modify > Combine paths > Union

And you get this:

Of course you would get something different every time.

Hope it helps. :p

Before i proceed in the production of my comic I must know
Photoshop or paint?
Do you like the paint versions or my photoshopped ones?
I want the vote from the fans on how I will make my comic.

Photoshop has more edits which give it lookyness+1coolfactor, but paint keeps it to where it looks like the actual game (no edits really besides some sprite edits).

Besides I'm not all that good at photoshoopin yet.

I'd say whichever you feel better with, But through Personal experience, I'd rather use Photoshop/the GIMP because I can't do absolutely ANYTHING in paint.

Use paint for building the comic, then apply speech bubbles via photoshop. Try to do less photoshop edits because lots of people prefer sprite edits over photoshop edits. The occasional edit as per need is fine though.

Photoshop isn't really made for spriting work, so the comic (minus speech bubbles and text) is best done in paint.

In paint I can't get the black outline like you do. For some reason it's always like that.

To get the "tail" of the speach bubbles I use the pen feature in photoshop, is that good or bad? because i find the custom thing a bit to annoying to work with

Black outline?

If you are talking about the speech bubbles then you should be using photoshop for that. Select the speech bubble's layer and hit the effects button at the bottom of the layer panel (second from the left I think) and hit "stroke" or "outline", you can then add a 1px black outline to the speech bubble.

Yes. The pen tool is best for the tail, shape tools for everything else. That's what I meant, sorry. :p

It is better to use photoshop for the text since you get anti-aliasing (smooth, non-pixelated) with photoshop. Your tail is a bit long but otherwise good. Speech bubbles and text are nicely laid out. Sprites are sharp. I would say that overall you did quite a good job with that one.

Comic 20 is now out! I took my attempt at making better bubbles

Comments are <3'd! (Seriously even if it's an "I loled" or "That was funny" or "needs work" or anything I love comments. Trollin is different tho)

Im probably not going to make comics as fast anymore due to school gettin harder.
I'll try to keep a weekly quota though =D

The idea for this comic was made by Alex, or His code name "Vallin"

I got a chuckle out of that comic. I also wish I could fire the polar star that fast. XD

The door seriously bugged me out the first time I played CS. XD Probably my favorite enemy.

DEATH TO ALL DOORS! :p

With the bubble from cell 4, just for future reference, you need to apply the tail to the last bubble.

So you mean I should try to make all my tails look like the last bubble's tail then?

Not in the slightest.

I meant that you put the tail in the wrong place.
