I think that Paper Mario is more like a spiritual succesor to Mario RPG like Kero Blaster is a Spiritual Succesor to Cave Story (Or at least I feel like it's spiritual succesor)duncathan said:

I've been seeing people say the Cave Story 2 rumor was false.. I saw the picture of the desktop icon... It looked legit, IDK people are saying it's fake.

There is no "CS2 rumor" that's been going on for years and I don't think there ever was one. He's referring to the one in that thread that was just linked, which was clearly intended as a joke, as it wasn't even an icon, just a folder saying "Cave Story 2"
