We can't petition it, but I refuse to accept that Balrog is a bar of soap. Actually, he's not, he was just based on one, so we'll just say he's a rectangle. End of story.

I think that Balrog being soap perfectly fits into his aura of nonsense. I mean, everyone expected a toaster, a suitcase or a lunchbox, but the soap comes right out of fucking nowhere - EXACTLY LIKE Balrog himself when you first see him. And it explains why he is such a bubblehead. Also, because someone has to say it:

I was kidding (as other people here, that watched the video) about he's being an Giant Soap Bar, Pixel said he BASED his design from a Soap Bar.
(You can see that in the first art of "Balrog".) and he add new details to his taste from that shape, and the result was the unknown creature that is Balrog.

 

One has to wonder why Pixal's soap has a handle on it though.
