It was a hard choice :[
I eventually went with fractals because they are one of my favorite mathematical constructs, but spaceships are still a much more concrete and amazing example of what humans are capable of.

I absolutely love fractals and I was never much of a sci-fi guy, so the choice is easy for me.

Yes, I read that before I even posted, but does that mean it is like some kind of snowflake? I like spaceships better than snowflakes.

Spaceships, we can spend plenty of our time making things look cool once we colonize our solar system.

Fractals are also when you close your eyes and draw random lines for 4 minutes and then fill the shapes you drew with different colours. But only in art therapy.

The Koch Snowflake is just one specific type of fractal. In essence a fractal is an image that contains itself in some form. Like if you hook a video camera up to a TV screen and point the camera at the screen.

That's trippy as hell.

Spaceships are way cooler, imo.

Of course, fractal-based space travel trumps both any day.

This was a very painful choice, and I have to say I'm sticking with fractals.

Fractals are simple enough that you can make them in simple image editors (e.g. MS Paint) by copying and pasting a set of pixels, and repeating that pattern with the bigger iterations.

diph.php

This image was created in MS Paint using copypasta. No joke here.

We currently have fractals, but spaceships would be more useful to the average joe (or joanna) once made more accessible.

When you guys say that a visually mathematical concept is cooler than interstellar travel and zero-gravity dogfights, it really makes you look lame.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with spaceships. Just not boring, real life space ships. Architecturally impossible, logic-defying spacetime-rending marvels of fantasy are where it's at.

I voted fractals, but...I dunno. Culty had a pretty good point.

You like spaceships fab? Very well. Anyway I like organic-looking spaceships more than the metallic ones. They seem more interesting and the alien architecture through biologically-generated-structures is more unique than what we humans have.

Here's a spaceship that's more on the organic side.

I think mathematically so fractals are going to consume more of my thoughts than space ships. Imagine a spaceship shapped like a fractal.
