40% port of Cave Story in HTML5

Ohhi sorry for the almost-month bump!

I'm going to try this on a different computer, but now the site is requesting a username and password? Uhm... what is it? Anybody know?

 

Perhaps, since Pixel wished for it not to exist, he made it inaccessible to everyone but himself.

Pixel does not have a strong grasp of English, I would be surprised if he didn't know this forum exists, and he isn't enough of a douche to sue his fanbase.

I completely don't understand the hint: "It's a secret to everybody" and really would like to try out this game

Nobody has the password. He has made it private to prevent conflict and to follow Pixel's wishes. That shouldn't be hard to infer.

 

Well, it was awesome while it lasted. I never knew HTML5 could be so awesome.

 

You know that you don't have to honer his wishes right? This game is freeware, and you didn't have to ask pixel about it in the first place. If pixil asked me the same thing, I would still complete my mod and post here, and after while, tell everyone that pixel did not want this mod complete, just to hear you denounce a game that may or not be good. Guys, you should learn by now that even if a person say no, you can still do it. It's the principle of romhacks.

 

Well, yeah. If you want to be a total jerk about it. The thing is, many of the people with enough committment to build a cave story mod, or in this case rebuild it in HTML, really like cave story. Any a lot of people who really like cave story have grown to respect the creator of cave story. And when you respect someone, you tend against doing something you believe they might not want you to do.

Internet Anonymity may make people meaner, but it doesn't obliterate social dynamics.

(also if you respect something made or done by someone long enough without actually knowing what that person is like, you begin to idolize them. But thats another story)

That's not how the freeware version works. I believe in the license he gave out, we are free to distribute and play the game as it is, but only that. No other permissions are granted, so Pixel would be allowed to shut down a project like this.
