What programs do you use to do all this? I'm using OllyDbg right now, but so far I've just poked around and haven't done any actual editing. (Heck I don't even know if its even capable of editing =/ )

One thing I think a lot of mods here do very badly at is save point placement. Too many is bad, but too few is much, much worse (IMO)

I'm not sure, as I've never tried it myself, but I believe the map data is stored in Cave Story/Data and is a pxe or pxa file. If you figured out which map is yours, copied the file, and renamed it, that might work. It might take a bit of experimentation, though.

Snake is easily the best for first time through cause you can kill a lot of enemies through walls without putting yourself in danger

Also who would fish in a reservoir with no fish in it? I'm guessing the bomb from Eggs2 is either a small modification to the Deleets in Hell, or vice versa, so it probably didn't take much work

It depends on your computer. Mine is in the top row, 4th from the left, but I have also seen it beside the alt key or beside the Home key. I doubt you are using a mac, I don't think you can mod CS with a mac, but if I'm wrong and you are using a mac, I think its command+shift+4 or something...
