  • Wait, so it it's a battleship? At first, I thought you meant that a fractal was the equivalent to a spaceship (and in all honestly, I thought that it was something from Halo). Now that to say that, I should correct that again. (Now that I think about it, there actually could be an uproar between the coolness of spaceships and fractals.)
Also, Inception mixed with Late Night does not equal the perfect state of mind, and staying awake is not helping that either.
Lastly, since you always seem to be the first to correct me, I should begin to take count of that starting... Now.
    I might later tonight
I'm making some good progress on CsEngine right now though :0
Correct, except you but an extra Bm after the one in bar 8 (I'm guessing you just copied it wrong, since that was one of the ones I gave you).
Huh, that's interesting that you just remember that one thing and then nothing for a long time. I too remember very few individual events, but I do remember fairly clearly starting piano lessons (at age 4) and what I was for Halloween almost every year:

    Preschool - a knight
Kindergarten - the two of clubs
    1st grade - a red crayon
    2nd grade - don't remember
    3rd grade - a vampire
    4th grade - Harry Potter
5th grade - Tae-Kwon-Do person (admittedly, this was kind of a cop-out, as I was actually in Tae-Kwon-Do).
    6th grade - Sherlock Holmes
7th grade - This was the last year I dressed up for Halloween, and it was also the first Halloween that I had a dog. So I had this GENIUS idea that my costume would be to "switch places" with my dog, by putting him in jeans and sunglasses, and putting a leash on myself and having him hold it, and I would be constantly holding him up on his hind legs, and attempting to say "trick-or-treat" ventriloquistically through him. Unfortunately, my mom didn't appreciate the GENIUS of this idea, calling it "impractical" (psh) and so I just threw together this shitty costume at the last minute consisting of a black garbage bag with eye, nose, and mouth holes cut in it, and a broom, claiming I was the "dust bunny Grim Reaper".

Also, there was some birthday (don't remember if it was 4th, 5th, or 6th) where I had this incredibly badass birthday cake that was shaped like a caterpillar. A bunch of pieces of black licorice were used as legs.
Coolio. As an extremely small hint, the word with the double meaning is not "is" :p.

And I'm kinda amazed you vividly remember something from '95, as you're ~2 yrs younger than I, and I only vaguely remember '96 and absolutely nothing before that.
Is the "pun" in your sig supposed to be blank, or is my computer just not rendering it correctly? And have you figured out mine yet?
Well, that's not too bad of a method, though the ideal way to maximize your learning I think would be to look at the three notes (since, for now, we're only dealing with major and minor triads) and look at the intervals between each of the three pairs of notes (ignoring which octave they're in). If you have a major or minor triad, then the three intervals will always be a minor 3rd, a major 3rd, and a perfect 5th (any or all of them may be inverted - i.e. major 6th below = minor 3rd above, perfect 4th below = perfect 5th above). The note on the bottom of the perfect 5th is the root of the chord, and the quality of the other interval that note belongs to (the major 3rd or minor 3rd) tells you the quality of the chord.

In measure 59, there is actually a special chord which we haven't discussed yet. For now, just pretend it's a C-flat major triad (in the original, non-organya ToT, it actually is a C-flat major triad).

Also, I lied to you on IRC last night. We will be looking at Wizard's Duel as an example of more advance harmony (i.e. not just major and minor triads), and as an introduction to voice leading. However, when we do more voice leading/counterpoint stuff, we'll look at several small examples (the beginning of Stronghold of the Wind among them). Part of the reason for this is that I'm less knowledgeable about the typical rules of counterpoint, so rather than explain a lot of abstract theory, I'm just going to show you a bunch of examples. Also, in the compositional style used by people like me, GIRaka, Pixel, etc. (I typically describe my own style as "neo-romantic"), the rules of voice leading/counterpoint are usually less strictly followed than those of harmony. Incidentally, the reason I wanted to use the beginning of SotW as an example is that it goes very much against the rules, but still sounds awesome.

    Finally, just so you're aware:

Well, I was planning on releasing it when it's done, but should I?
    Perhaps that's a good idea...........

Yeah, my orgs tend to be pretty short.
THAT'S BECAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO.
    Okay not really.
But I do go on there sometimes, and it has been pretty boring.
Also I'm always on the forums, I just never post. I hardly keep track of things anymore.
I was originally thinking of putting rounded edges on the cheese, maybe even some randomly generated holes, but I think the program is easily complicated enough as it is.
