So if there's a nuzlocke(Did I spell that right?) for Pokemon why not Cave Story?

What you do:

You can't pick up any Heart containers.
You can't receive the following weapons.
-Spur.
-Snake.
-Missile Launcher.
-Bubbler.
-Nemesis.
-Machine Gun.

Because you have to pick up Blade you have to keep it at level 1.

I hope most of you actually FOLLOW the rules.
NO TRAINERS,OR HACKING TOOLS!
( I know this sounds like the hard mode on Cave Story +,so don't say anything.)

Actually, it isn't a minimal items run because he never said anything about the Arms Barrier! :chin:

Yes you've spelt it right.
Nuzlocke's are so hard. :/
I don't think I can manage to do this. It seems too difficult.

If you only have 3 HP the arms barrier isn't really going to matter that much.

Getting the arms barrier is almost impossible with 3 hp and no machine gun, so it's not really worth it.

You can always just go back after you get the booster 2.0, if you need to.

Well can't you just take the hit from the purple critter and jump off of it? I think it only does 2 damage.
This sounds like it has been done before, only slightly harder. Now, the real challenge is Bubbler only. We've all been tried it.

Why not fireball only? Have fun not being able to shoot up!

The bubbler always felt like a novelty weapon. It was useful in a few places, but otherwise it just felt like a waste of space between your other weapons.

A bubbler-only run (from the time you get it, obviously) sounds awful.

So does a fireball-only run from time of getting.

I've done a hard mode run, but only ever been able to complete normal ending. I can't do hard mode hell, probably never will be able to.

I still need to go back and finish Hard Mode ...
It's not a very creative hard mode, just a 3 HP mode. Can be frustrating when one misstep is death lol

It's not bad but... I think the Bubbler would have been more interesting if the bubbles weren't forced to explode at lvl 3 (like if you switch weapons). Or if it acted like that mod that had the bubble shield...
You would create a shield of bubbles, and then switch weapons [same like if you use lvl 3 blade and immediately switch to another weapon for increased damage...]. Just need a way to bind specific weapons to keys, instead of having to mad press or open up the menu...

It's worth it. The satisfaction you get from beating each boss is well worth the investment.

Wall of text ahoy!

For curly stick with the lv3 bubbler, you can't exit the room without it. Repeatedly tap the fire button to fire in a concentrated line (referred to as single shot from here on out) else she will overwealm you. Never save in the sand zone without a lv3 bubbler.

Balfrog? Charge and fire. Use single shot for the frogs.

For Balrog 4 you cannot take out the missiles. You need to practice dodging them. To get plenty of room to maneuver there is a specific point in time before he jumps where he will jump in the direction you were rather than are. So if you run and jump over him just before he does he will jump in the opposite direction givving you the full length of the room to dodge the missiles.

For Misery running along while charging the lv3 bubbler creates a vertical column of bubbles. Use this to your advantage.

For Ironhead more dodging is in order. Rest the bubbler as a pass comes in and towards the end of the inwards pass thin out the herd a bit, do not attempt to take on ironhead during the inwards pass. The outwards pass requires that you shoot ironhead at reasonably close range while getting out of the way if he moves too fast, dodging blocks and making a hole for yourself through the fish. Use the offshoots from your bubble shield to attack ironhead and defend yourself agaist stray fish and finish it off by releasing your stored bubbles. This takes practice. As with all of these fights never rush to take the final blow, be patient. If you can't hit ironhead then don't. Focus on survival. The thing that will kill you most of the time are blocks so forus on those first.

For the core fight draw him towards you so that you can stand right on top of him (you can pass through the core btw) and point blank him in the face. Standing within a pass through-able enemy and shooting ensures that all bubbles hit their mark. Remember this for Monster X as well.

For undead core focus on sue and use misery as a way to replenish health and exp. Misery won't usually attack unless you attack her. Then use your bubble shield for misery's spawning enemies until she is down and take on the core at your leisure.

@Dunc, is that Andwhy's channel by chance?
No it isn't.

My run was done on my PSP so it couldn't be recorded.
