• Please stop embedding files/images from Discord. Discord has anti-hotlinking logic in place that breaks links to Discord hosted files and images when linked to from anywhere outside of Discord. There are a multitude of file/image hosting sites you can use instead.

What do you think is better:
A high quality cave story game with lots of cool features that takes a year to make with about 2 hours of gameplay
or another 2 hour of gameplay cave story game, but it's really basic and is only map and script changes (no different art, custom bosses or cool storyline) BUT it only takes 2 months to make

my first games were the second option, and the one im making right now I'm HOPING is the first option
I just wonder if I'm wasting my time in making a better quality game, when people maybe just want a better quantity game

The second one I made was better than the first, but it was a lot shorter (probably because I didn't have the patience to make it that long with it being that "good")

I wrote a big plan, hopefully it's about as long as the original cave story

What I'm saying is that neither was meant for solely one group or the other. Discord group is in the title of the other one since it was being organized that way, but it was open for everyone. There was no "for the forums" contest or "for the discord group" contest. Just plain contests.

Hi, can you PM a link if you have it?

When I was talking with him in 2014, there were a few things preventing him from making it public for private or commercial uses. One major roadblock was Fmod, the sound library used; which would need to be replaced, however I noticed that Fmod's license no longer costs for indie projects with a budget less than 500k$, obtainable for one game per year. And the other thing was the CS+ graphic/Half Life 2 sound assets that needed to be replaced before going public. The rest I think was bug fixing... That's how I remember it anyway...

Today I watched Fight Club for the first time and earned a full bottle of root beer for sticking around to help clean up. Yesterday I messed up my hands, legs and head doing volunteer farm work! (It’s better now.) And on Friday, I signed up for Smash and fencing with intentions to get into ballroom dancing or perhaps something else. Now I just need to do homework and not throw it all away. :o
