Heck I made a few, shitty mods, before starting something that's fun, just by text and map editing. Not that I'm gonna give out the shitty ones, but maybe the recent one.

Ryu, be patient you spaz, no one here is yelling at you, we are just trying to svae you from a shitty mod that isn'y going to garner anything. Map editing ain't that hard. Heck, there's even guides to detail what command does what. Hell, Cave Editor even tells you what to do.

Be patient Ryu, and think about what you're going to do long before you do it.

Just because you made something you think is awesome does not necessarily mean everyone else will think so too.

I remember my first mod. Sure, it had some potential. But I was finished with metal gear story before I began. Once I realized that, and had finally picked up the skills to start for real, I began plans for WTF-story (lol there were no plans ). In order to try and not kill off metal-gear-story with nothing, I just released the "finished" version of it. And we all remember how that was, right?

 

Yup, it's generally good to make at least one "test mod" before making anything you release. The test mod doesn't even have to be anything big at all. For me, I just did a Hell edit, where I removed all the spikes from SG-B1, removed all the flying Butes from SG-B2, and put a safe corridor through the middle of SG-B3 which protects you from Butes, edited the script so that you could skip the Heavy Press, and put a 500 HP life capsule before Ballos. That was all I needed, and then I got right down to business on The Wrath of Rawriamawesomebitch, which turned out to be pretty good, and probably would have been crap if I hadn't done the test mod first.

 

Same thing happened to me as well. My test mods were almost similar to Wedges, except with some script dialog changes. Originally, my test mod had to do with Micheal Jackson attacking mimiga island, as I said a million times before. Tale Of The Broxxus or, "Broxxus Legacy" had a much earlier stage a long time ago. I didn't plan to release it on the forums, because it was terrible. Good thing I had the idea of changing it to a "Timed Edition", now that people can see Tale Of The Broxxus' predecessor, with a challenge involved.

It's quite obvious that this guy has no idea what he's doing, judging by his posts. But if I'm wrong about that, he gets unbanned, his mod is posted, and it's actually good, not just in the eyes of the masses ("holy shit! you edited the text to say penis! hahahahahaha! how'd you do that?") but in the eyes of the modders ("ban, this one's just flaming us >_>"), then I'll congratulate him and possibly eat a hat. A hat made of nacho, but still a hat.
