Why Chaco (and Santa) chose to live isolated?

They both live isolated for the same reasons some humans choose to live isolated.

I isolate myself because I can't handle people who don't agree with my sociopolitical views. I also can't handle ducks. Or Twilight.

Chaco discovered Twilight was destroying female mimiga-kind's ability to choose husbands who make sense. So she ran away to Grasstown, where there are no bookstores and/or video outlets. Her fireplace is always lit so she can burn stuff. Like K-Mart catalogues with Twilight bedsheets.

Santa discovered that female migima didn't want him anymore because he wasn't DREAMY enough. So he went to live in grasstown.

The rest is history.
