And the only robot from the surface other than Curly and Quote is beaten up severly, and the last troop of team 9. maybe it was that team?

they were also most likely a specially made team, made specifically for killing the core.

It doesn't settle it. That's my point. We've moved on from "Who is Balrog?" to "Who is Pooh Black?", and I think your killed-by-robots theory is pretty good. Since Pooh Black ends up working in a hospital, I think he's a nice guy after all, he just hates robots.

New theory: Pooh Black is not a unique creature. The island used to be inhabited by them, Cave Story beta style, but they posed a threat to the robots for some reason, and they were eliminated. Balrog was on the island for a very long time before the robot invasion, so his build was based on the Poohs (which is what I call them now).

Heh heh, Misery got tired of being the only punching bag, so she made a wearer of the crown enslave Balrog as well.

As an interesting thought, balrog and misery may be brother and sister, the way jenka talks about them, but that's for another thread...

 

Jenka definitely knows Balrog well, judging by the way she talks to him, but I don't think he's her son, because that would seem impossible. I also think that BALROG IS A ROBOT.

Yea, he seems to be like a robot, with his weight and strength and shape, sorta.

But the pooh black thing makes me wonder. Robots don't have souls, and pooh black looks so much like him, the eyes, the stubby hands, the marks on the body, even the same entrance. (dropping in from the ceiling).

Just makes me wonder...

 

No, Pooh Black isn't shaped after Balrog, Balrog is shaped after Pooh Black. It's like if Pooh was a dog* and Balrog was a robot dog.
