*mega bump*

I realised yesterday that we can't really be sure what the whole of the secret level is called. The supposedly official title (Sacred Grounds) may actually be referring to only B1. B2 and B3 while the rest (Passage + Corridor + Statue Chamber + Seal Chamber) may not be a part of Sacred Grounds. The same could apply for "Hell", which may also be a title solely for SG B1, because that's where the sign is. :p

On the other hand, in the credits only Ballos's name shows up under Bloody Holy Land, so BHL might be an alternate title for the part other than B1, B2 and B3, or even for only the Seal Chamber.

So I suppose the only factual title is "Secret Level". :D
Although "Hell" is most likely the appropriate title.

for the record I voted 4 Ballos Land

Holy Sacred Ballos Hell Bloody Ground Land has a nice ring to it... Say that 5x fast!

Hmm... sounds like to me Bloody Holy Land, Sacred Grounds and even Hell sorta describe the same place. They're generic names though, and not a real name for it though...

Kind of like how the Island doesn't seem to ever get a name, just the Floating Island.
I think the more interesting question about Holy Sacred Ballos Hell Bloody Ground Land is what IS that place?
Do you think it's the ancient ruins of the kingdom that was destroyed by Ballos? Or is it a unique ancient castle in the sky belonging to a different ancient lost group of people? Have another idea?
In a single night, the kingdom that Ballos so loved was reduced to ashen ruins.
Jenka, seeing her brother's madness, confined him to this floating island. That was the most she could do.
It doesn't say if Ballos' kingdom was located on this floating island as well... So I don't think there is solid proof one way or the other, but which do you prefer/think?
A doomed Magic Kingdom like Chrono Trigger? Or an ancient island in the sky? Or...

I thinque the crack in the Prefab Building is a portal to the fucking Holy Bloody Land with no name. Andwhy tried to draw a map of the island, but the stupid place doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Maybe it really doesn't exst on the island (the idea of the portal can so easily be replaced by a teleporter).

I have a idea of how the sacred grounds went in, but it means recreating the map from scratch since I got a number of things wrong. The balcony area faces to the front or back, not the side, the positioning of the waterway was horrible, and the outer wall is probably on the opposite side to the balcony.

Seems my map is very inaccurate and desperately needs a revise. :p

I'd like to see this map...

Here's the map I came up with a long time ago :
puzzle1.jpg

Since I assumed things were on a 3dimensional scale, the places probably need to be rotated in 3d space. But, those are the areas I KNOW connect.

Waterway connects other places, but I don't know the distance between these areas..

Here's the closest thing to another look at the island... However inaccurate, it still at least gives us another look maybe from a different angle :

... I sure wish somebody could convince Pixel to release his beta version of Cave Story...

I call it the "Secret Level" personally, everyone knows what I'm talking about when I call it that anyway.

Sacred Grounds here. My accomplishment from this thread may've already revealed that, though...

Sacred Grounds sounds more romantic.

I mean, more literary? Ah, I mean it sounds more like..... a name? 'Hell' sounds like just as what people call it and not the name. But the question is 'what' you call it so it's HELL!!!

Sacred Grounds IMO is the place preceeding where Ballos was imprisoned. I'll go with Hell too coz it's cool. ;p
