Use the map system alot, saving anywhere is really good, lets you take most everything step by step. I love doing the belly of the beast btw, one of my favorite zones, especialy the 2nd part.

Chinfish village is fun too, but can get really frustrating.

I should be working on my sandzone, but I can't help it, sprite editing is too much fun. Check out a new pic.

I'll get around to backgrounds and the like, don't plan to edit music tho.
I also plan to do some extensive npc editing to ghetto rig effects that arn't in cave story. I'll have a small demo when i get some of that junk working.

Haha, nice! If you go for more in-depth editing, you could make platforms have a more 3d Effect ;p

try this:

-The solid block he'd stand on, with a portion of the floor on it (from top to middle)

-A BG block above the solid one, with the other portion of the floor on it (From middle to bottem)

This would make the floor seem 3d.

Speaking of which, nobody get the game for GBA, the screen is buggered up, and an emulator is much better.

Is that the kind of 3d feel you ment Tiamat?
The way you walk right on the edge feels silly. Its possible to lower the whole thing and it'll seem like he's walking a pixel or 2 into the "3d" part, but they i'd have to waste alot of tiles, so i wouldn't bother.
Since it was having a sonic vibe, i had to make some mushrooms to give it some mario. Maybe I'll put some mega man and metroid in there too.

No, I ment the edge clostest to the game's player would be partially scenery... Like this:
diph.php

Although, it depends on how tilted you want the 'camera' to be:
diph.php

I'll give that a shot, and see how it loooks. Thanks for the useful pic. I was thinking 45degree angle style.
