Actually, "Majin" is listed in one of the game's credits, I think it's the one that appears after you complete the special stage with Eggman's face you can only get into with the sound test...if I remember correctly, anyway. But it's listed somewhere. So either Sega had Satan come in to work on this fine game, or some dude liked to go by the name Majin and he's the one who made the creepy thing as a joke.

That's not what I heard. Apparently, the name Majin was nowhere to be found in the credits, which was what led players to the incorrect conclusion that it was a message from the devil. Instead, "Majin" was a mistranslation of "Madin," which was a nickname for Masato Nishimura, one of the developers who helped make the landscapes for the game. While most japanese children were apt to get the joke, American players were more pessimistic about the intent behind the secret message due to much creepier music playing in the American version. I've had nightmares about that scary sonic cd screen before, I litterally couldn't sleep and Wouldn't lay my hands on a sonic game for a month. I'd get my mario fix during that. I still shiver when I think about this scary screen when I'm in bed.

Well, I find it scary as heck,

Imagine, would you be scared if one of those scary sonics followed you around everyday, but when you turn around, hes there and he starts laughing at you and eating your face off....

(That was based on one of my dreams, losely)

Talking about secrets, there's this 90's mascot game for the sega CD in which if you managed to collect powerups in a very specific order it'll rewards you with mermaid boobs:
