Actually, Cave Editor's acting up on me and won't save anything. At all.

So, I'm out for a bit.

I'm guessing that might be a read only file issue.

And do you seriously use CE to edit sprites? MSpaint is a bunch better than CE's scrappy image editor (and almost ideal for spritework since the graphics are on such a low scale).

Go to your "data" folder, right-click and select properties, then uncheck read-only. I it asks you to apply it to all files in the folder, tell it yes.

Problem solved. Had the same problem myself. The creator (Wistil?) should change the error to say something along those lines.

 

Yes, that read-only thing was really annoying.

There should be at least some sort of warning like "Before you start editing, please make sure... [blah blah]"

 

Maybe it's a secret test to see if you're clever enough to mod?

 

It must be a built in IQ test.
