It's hayden's thread so I can't say for sure, but I can't imagine this is what he would consider 'time well spent'

Oh shoot I forgot to mention that while my above post is true, I am against gay sex. That is why I said it should not be a part of matrimony.

OK, that's like the weirdest thing I've ever heard....

Why would you marry someone that you couldn't have sex with?

All I'm saying is that biblical marriage is made for man and woman.

The whole "the bible is against gay marriage" argument is pretty weak. I mean, if we're going to go by that logic, then shouldn't we ban round haircuts, football, tattoos, and Divorce? Clearly the bible is a bit dated, since we aren't following it to the letter. So any argument that boils down to "becuz the bible sed so" is pretty stupid IMO.

I would like to.... but society doesn't agree.

(I actually follow all of these laws)

and no.8 is for the holy tabernacle of the Jews in Isreal... not the entire church.

I would debate you on this, but I don't see much point because I won't really convince you of anything, and this is haydens thread, not the debate thread.

E: btw, I didn't see no pork on the list... shame. :(

Bombchu, you are right. Gay marriage is a sin, and the Bible speaks against it. But so are all the things you and I do every day that are displeasing to God. Through his eyes, original sin resides in everyone to the same extent, and no one is better or worse than anyone. The Bible says not to sin, and we all sin every day, yet we're still saved. The Bible says not to swear or use the lord's name in vain, yet those are both very prevalent things in the world among both Christians and non-Christians alike. And the Christians who use his name in vain and swear are still saved. I try to not do either of those, but neither do I criticize others for doing so because that would be hypocritical, given that I have my own wrongdoings to worry about (and also I let ass and piss slip from time to time). The same goes for gay marriage. Gay people are violating God's word, but so are we. Maybe from an earthly perspective their actions are worse than ours, but not from God's. This doesn't mean we have to endorse it, but we should tolerate it, just as others are tolerating our sins. Now in recent years, there have been frivolous programs rising up that promote gay marriage and bring extra attention to those who are gay, trying to force us to go beyond just tolerating it, and I will agree that those are a symptom of the school system trying to dumb our generation down, but I disagree with the whole idea of condemning gays.

You would really like to follow the bible to the "t"? Really?

Well all I can say to that is that it's fine if you want to, but it's not right to force other people to adhere to these rules. As dunc said, "Who in all of creation has the right to judge?". Sure, going by your logic, God does, but you're not God, so stop judging.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. Can we solve this entire argument with one quote?
Mark 12:30-31
New International Version (NIV)
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Love your neighbor as yourself.

Love your neighbor as yourself

Love your neighbor

If we could then gay marriage wouldn't be an issue, as well as many other topics.

What you said Hayden... No one can be as perfect as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, but that doesn't mean that repentance isn't an option. My church (which is probably very different from the rest of you guys) believes that if someone truly loves him, they will make an effort to keep his commandments,

and though slip-ups are almost garunteed, it's still possible to try to be as righteous as on can be.

And it's my belief that over-condemning sinners is bad, because even though we take different paths, God loves all of us, as if we are his children.

Those are my words on this... (I had a comment against GIR's "the bible is outdated", but since my church is probably the only one that believes what I had to say, it's better I don't.)

Okay so this is where the confusion lies. I'm not talking about gay matrimony. I'm talking about gay marriage. Matrimony is the sacrament, marriage is being registered as spouses. There is no reason that gay couples should not be allowed to marry, but there is every reason that gay couples should not be allowed to part in the sacrament of matrimony.
Does that clear things up?

Okay you know what

Every gay/lesbo is going to hell

Who gives a fuck

Mind your own business and if you're against that personally then don't participate in it

I'm sick of seeing people go ballistic over gay marriage and sex and people trying so hard to stop this when it's not even affecting them; it's not like you're any more unholy if someone you don't even know does it

I understand...

I just don't get why anyone would do it, It's kind of pointless.

Anyways, let's just end the discussion, or continue it over PM's. it's just clogging up the thread at this point.

And to help get back on track....
