For my first post I will tell you the truth about our sword wielding mimiga buddy.

King IS arthur.
How?
His eyes are red, showing signs of going under the influence of the red flowers, which normally lead to death.
He is REBORN as King.
Not to mention his affection for Toroko.
And just think about it:
King Arthur.
Yup, so that's my 2 cents on King.

King is not Arthur... :p
I mean, assuming Jack and King have been around about the same amount of time... Jack specifically tells you about how he saw Arthur fight the red monster. And Toroko says the doctor killed Arthur, her brother. [although Jack says the doctor's henchmen killed Arthur...]
And King even says something about how he was looking out for Toroko in Arthur's absence...

I doubt Arthur's grave is empty...
The red flowers might be a good idea, but being "reborn" into King doesn't make any sense :p

('course Arthur's spirit could be watching over King, but if King IS Arthur, than Quote is King.)

I'm sorry, but that really wasn't necessary. At all.

Anyways,
I think I mentioned this in the other thread, but I always felt like King's blade once belonged to Arthur and was passed down to King, and then of course to Quote. And the spirit you see at level three could be Arthur I suppose.

The only beef I have with this is that in the blade's weapon description, it clearly states "King's soul dwells within", which would directly imply that the image seen is King. Doesn't mean it couldn't have been given to him by Arthur, but maybe his death was less traumatic.

This is quickly turning into a flame war...

Anyway, I think it's possible Arthur gave King the Blade. What else would Arthur have used to defeat the Red Demon?

*OFF TOPIC QUESTION*
I never tried before, but are you able to leave King before he dies, so that you can't take the Blade after beating Toroko+?

I tried once, to see what happens. You get pushed back into the room, and a message pops up which says "You can't leave!" or something along those lines. That's why you always see the blade in the minamalist runs of cave story.

I have a better theory:

King and Toroko were fucking eachother but her brother Arthur didn't like it because it's disgusting. So King, killed Arthur and left the blame on one of the Doctor's goons!
