i dont like overclocking. only overclock when you are sure to get new stuff for your computer so you can atleast use your old stuff to the last bit.

If you're careful and smart enough about it, you can minimize the damage by a large amount.
By the time it finally does burn out, you should be upgrading already, as you'd be very out of date by then.

I've got my processor at 3.2Ghz with no probs.

Basically, what happens is this:
Increase FSB = More heat + Less stability
Bigger heatsink | Faster fan = Less heat
More heat = Shorter component life
Increase voltage = More stability + Shorter component life (from electron migration)
So: Increase FSB, same stability, stable temp. of 30C = Same component life

And anyway, Intels last for decades normally.
