Why's it so wrong to give Sonic a gun?
He's in Brawl and wields them fine there, along with doing actual fighting, using punches and kicks, instead of merely hopping on everyone.
If an official game allows such antics, what's wrong with a fan-based mod doing the same?
{Hell, I've seen the famed, overweight plumber himself use a shotgun}

You, my good sir, have obviously not seen the atrocity of a game call "Shadow the Hedgehog". From how awful that game turned out, it can be assumed that giving any hedgehog a gun will result in an utter failure of a game.

This is the CS engine, so it should work. Still.... it's a bit out of character probably.

I've got a mage using a gun, though, so I guess I'm less worried about multiclassing

I had plumb forgotten about Brawl, but I'm not sure anything in there is part of official canon except for trophies.

Anyhoo, I have Shadow the Hedgehog, my taste in games once again fails to be good because I liked it okay, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, if you will, that Sonic says "I wouldn't be caught dead using one of those things" when Shadow picks up a gun. No specific rifle, just any gun. So there's that.

The worst part of Shadow was the voice acting.

Yes, because voice acting alone can completely ruin the game, right?

 

I rented that game once. Forgot to return the instruction manual

from what I remember, the worst part was the terrible controls and camera that made it nearly unplayable at parts. I really don't remember much else about it at all, which speaks to its mediocrity.

Anyway, my two cents, you could just have sonic get various ability enhancing items (like the stuff in SA2B) that let him do like, iunno, stuff. Without guns, but with basically the same gameplay effect.

Yeah, that sounds really cool.

So kinda like Kirby, except without any swallowing.

But it'd be kinda hard to code... I know I couldn't do it.

 

If you could somehow manage to actually make Sonic the Hedgehog like Sonic the Hedgehog in Cave Story it might be interesting, but Sonic with a *GUN*???!!!!

Swap Sonic for Shadow and it would be ok or only give Sonic the Blade. A gun goes against Sonic's whole personality...

nope.
Thats why i need a sprite will just fit quotes size.
i need someone who is good at making sprites.

Until then im still working on the mods levels and scripts

 

But if you change his size too drastically, the map might not be proportional...

Artistic sprites

I wouldn't fret too much about it looking great, there's only so much you can do with a 16x16 sprite.
The eyebrows on my Lowell sprite still bug me, they make him look somewhat constantly pissed

Actually I meant something more like: don't make the maps yet because you don't know how the sprites are going to look.

Edit: I'd also suggest using DB's PNG Story.
