Sorry, but you are wrong. I know for a fact that the html5 port didn't have background music of any kind. Plus the HTML5 port was password protected and it was built from NXEngine sources anyway.

Guys, I have a big worry now.

With the flash port of Cave Story, Cave Story will be available to more people.
But that is not my worry.

Cause the flash port of Cave Story being so crappy, we are doomed to see endless bad reviews on the game.
We need to act fast. How about a petition?

Anybody reviewing a game released in 2004 probably has no business writing reviews in the first place

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. Cave Story's buzz was years ago, and the existence of this port isn't going to undo it.

There's no point in fighting the copies of the Flash port that has spread now. These are on Chinese sites that pay no need to U.S. copyright, and U.S. sites run by people who just don't care (see how many Sonic and Mario rip-offs are sitting next to the Cave Story one on those sites). Getting it out of distribution and off mainstream paying sites as quickly as possible is the best we could do.

Thanks for the clear up.

Im still really mad though, I feel like punching the maker of this crappy port in the face.

Im also worried, I have some friends I know personally. They tryed Cave Story, but called it crap. Im worried they will find the flash port, and think Im cheap and Crappy (Own the game on Wii, Pc (both Original and Plus) 3DS and tryed the DS demos). So yah. Ill try not to worry about this port

I thought so too. So five months ago I started a page on the site linking to CS related news reports from various gaming sites. I figured that with CS 3D, CS+ and CSWii out of the way that things would slow down and I wouldn't need to maintain it much, if at all. Nope. Five months and around 850 links later and I am STILL updating the thing with the most recent news report being only 7 days ago about a Quote cameo in Runner 2.

The buzz still hasn't worn off.

Oh, I didn't mean the buzz has gone. It would be better if I had said that the game generated its momentum years ago, and some pesky Flash port isn't going to stop it.

Not you, the guy who made the Illegal flash port of cave story. But I still think you should fix Ms71 story's graphics. Heck, I will even help you turn your mod upside down to make it a hellalot better.

I agree with you parkraft, Those flash ports are HORRIBLE, those people deserve OUR hatred for messing up nicalis's plans to port our lovely game to 360,ps3,vita, and possibly the wii u,ps4 and *gulp* the xboxone. *DON'T YOU DARE BUY IT!*
but the bigger question remains, how will they get ALL of them gone?
*oh and I think we all had enough too say about my mod, I just like those pretty colors...brings the bloom to me.*
