Wow, don't worry, I don't think you've done anything wrong. Newbies don't have a lot of privileges till they hit the 10 post mark, so most likely that is what is preventing you from doing much of anything.

Edit: also, certain members can render themselves to appear banned. Just look at schokobecker.
