Snake I found really useful to go through walls, but as andwhyisit said, it can't destroy any breakable blocks. I always have to fumble around for another weapon

Nemesis. Even thought I still haven't gone through Hell with it and only it.

 

It would be a fun weapon if I could bear to part with my blade, though it would get frustrating at times. I didn't use it for long enough to rate it which is why I will do this:

The blade is great, although when trying to kill a powerful enemy, I find it weaker at lvl3. Other than that, it's one of the best.

Spur

 

Good for lots of damage and you can charge it while you are running around and unable to attack. Though it is not good for more than one enemy leaving you overwealmed at times.

Every weapon seems to have its good points and its bad points, there is no all-powerful weapon in cave story despite what Chaba said.

Has a habit of putting following you around above firing at the enemy, so you cannot move too far from the enemy else curly can't do her work. Also uncontrollable, but at least she doesn't drown or lose heath or lose/gain exp.
Curly is more useful and less unpredictable in sacred grounds which brings the score up.

My least used weapon: Missile Launcher

it is great because you can charge it while moving so dodging is usefull while charging a shot, the only downfall why it didnt get that extra 0.5 in the score was because it can go up to lvl 20 as its limited to 3

You can never hit what you're aiming at. Snake is never good just by itself, it's so weak at lvl1.

Bubbler (evil)

Pros:
1. Bubbler is a weapon for hitting multiple targets at once.
2. Bubbler can act as a shield.
3. Bubbler can accumulate bubbles and fire them all at once which is kinda like the Spur's charging ability except it is better since it fires at enemies while charging.
4. Unlike the more powerful weapons out there it is easier to keep the Bubbler at lvl3.
5. Can shoot blocks at lvl3.
6. Bubbler is a really fun weapon.

Cons:
1. Needs recharging after 100 bubbles.
2. Not as powerful as some of the other weapons out there.
3. Difficult to level up because lvl1 is so weak.

Yeah, I do that, but it can be annoying at times.

Wonderful. Besides being my current favorite weapon for fighting the Red Demon ( I'll have to see how far out of my way I'd have to go to get Blade to 3 first - I want each run through the cave to be as short as possible, because my jetpacking is still clumsy with a controller and it's taking me many tries to get through ) , I've found it extremely handy as the longest range weapon in my arsenal ( minimal-item run ) , for its ability to hit ground targets while I'm jumping ( or pitted targets while I'm on a ledge ) , and it makes a great inbetween-weapon - while I wait for my level 3 Blade to finish tearing things up, I'll oftentimes switch to a second weapon and fire away, and the Fireball's traits make it great for this.

My least favorite weapon of all...
Rocket.

 

A joy to annihilate bosses with, but besides that it just takes up space. That and I'm always worried about running out of ammo and dying. I'd much rather just have the blade or the spur.

Quote would have been long dead without it, also the fact that it is the path to the Spur, Snake, and Machine Gun gives it extra points, the letdown is that it is a very basic weapon and isn't all that powerful.
