I didn't see this anywhere else, so Iono if it's just me, but I've been having this weird and random problem with message boxes...
For some reason, when the messages appear in the game, a random gender symbol {I believe it's the one for female...I never could remember...} will sometimes appear in my text and shove the next line or so off the edge. I've notice it usually appears wherever I've hit enter to make another line {but it's happened in a few other places}, and it sometimes disappears when I mess with the text or retype it....
What teh heck's going on? I don't see much of a pattern besides it appearing, usually, before new lines; sometimes, it'll happen right after a <NOD. Besides that, it's really random....
Thanks for any help, and yes I'm still using Cave Editor, if that's the problem...

I thought I was specific...

There's not really much to the problem...
Just every time a message is being typed out in a message box, and it comes to the end of the line, instead of going a line down and starting another, it'll randomly print a gender symbol in place of the "Enter key" {Or whatever you'd call what the enter key makes to move everything to the next line down}, and so the next line prints on the current line, and screws up the next 2-3 lines in the process....
Sometimes I can get rid of it by deleting and retyping another "Enter key" {Or whatever..} in the script...
I really don't think you'd need a screen shot of it....
This almost only happens at the "Enter key"s, and it's
pretty really annoying....

You could compare your script to some dialogue in another mod/CS original. If there's nothing you can see that you're doing differently then it could just be a CaveEditor problem.

Screenshot it, bitch. Make a video diagramming exactly what you're doing. C'mon. Put some effort out there.

Or you could put some effort into seeing what hes trying to say. It seems pretty obvious to me.

The only thing I can think of is that somehow your font got screwed up. Try playing the game on a different computer, preferably with a different operating system. Also try the same data folder with a different executable (if you need to, change some stuff with Sue's to help test. And make sure you back up before trying any of this.) Also try your current .exe with a clean data folder. And try deleting config.dat

Why would you need a video diagram of a gender symbol appearing at the end of a sentence and pushing the next 2-3 lines off-screen...?
Do you lack imagination? D=

I've already checked, and I don't see anything different...

Although I'd hate to condemn Cave Editor, that might just be the problem....
But I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem as me and knew anything about it...
The things a bit too random to test; I wrote a whole cut-scene and more for the first boss fight without any weird gender symbols appearing, but in the next scene, every single freakin' line had the stupid symbol!!

Luckily I've gotten rid of it in the previous scene, but it just gets really annoying...
...just not so much that I'd go through all the work to use Sue's Workshop....
But thanks for the help

This may or may not help.

A newline on Windows consists of a carriage return (char 13) and a line break (char 10). On MS-DOS, chars 11 and 12 are sometimes interpreted as the two gender symbols. So it could be that for some reason the program is inserting '\11' or '\12' instead of '\10' or '\13'.

Heh, this reminds me of this other, weird problem I had where the characters were acting funny...
Anyways, it may not help, but at least I can know what's wrong, now... {Problems I can't figure out at all really annoy me...}
Thanks =D

I'm really not sure that is what's wrong. It's just a hypothesis.
