So since I made that hack and all I figured I should start practicing with PxTone. This is I'd say the first thing I've sat down and made properly, the Dark World theme from Link to the Past.

I didn't have any fancy ogg samples so the file size is fairly small.

Wow, this is really nice! Though I've never heard the original that it's based on, so I can't really compare to know how faithfully you remade it.

I probably wouldn't win any accuracy awards.
And you need to play Link to the Past before my nostalgia beats you up.

I made one by myself this time so it probably won't be as 'dynamic' or interesting as the others but oh well. I call it sleeping crystal because I was tired when I made it and it shows. I'll call it a Work in Progress.

Okay, feedback time:

Dark World: As I said, wonderful. Not exactly the same instruments as LttP, but I think that is a good thing in this case.

Xemn's Theme: I like your version a lot. If you are trying to make it identical tone-wise, then you should heavy up the percussion a bit (NES had hard percussion), and also instrumental tone is bouncier in your version.

Prelude: I only listened to the new and improved version. Sounds great. It's calm, and it is also a fairly long song, which is good for variation.

Seleeping Crystal: I am assuming you will use this for the crystal cave? It fits perfectly, it has a similar tone to the previous org. It has dissonance, but it resolves after a few measures, which is awesome. The mallet melody adds another layer to the song, but it keeps the song subdued overall. I don't think much work has to be done on it, I wouldn't change it too much if I were you.

Keep up the goodness, these are definitely high quality. :D

Thanks. I don't think I did quite as well as you seem to be saying I did, but that could have something to do with the fact that I made them. Anyway, for my next piece, I made a PxTone version of Mischievous robot. I would have liked to add to it but I'd never do it justice, so I just tried to make it 'like' Mischevious Robot.

More feedback time:

Mischevious robot: I like this version, it is a little more reliant on the beat of the song, which I think is a good change. A little slower feeling than the original, but the change in tone makes it work.

Tetris A: at the beginning it was sloooooooowwww, however, as the beat picks up, so does the song. The low notes really at beat to the song, as did GIR's remake. It makes the song more intense. Also, it kind of just ends. Is it not supposed to loop?

Thanks. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to loop the last part of the song, or have an ending to it. All I'd need to do for it to loop is change the Last and Repeat measures, and perhaps that's what I'll do. The ending is pretty weak, and I'm also not very happy with the transitions between the three parts, especially the 2nd-3rd.

Judging by the timestamp, more like 10 seconds before the deadline. Still, I'm glad you made it :p

Everybody should listen to the songs and vote.
