Pokemon->Cave Story

Once I learn modding the first mod I'm planning to make is Pokemonogatari.

Seriously, no shit.

 

I'd actually really like to see how that one works out.

... but you kill all the monsters and don't catch them, so...?

Hm, maybe you could have a bunch of random triggers that cause you to encounter Pokemon... or you could have it so you only catch them with a boss fight or something... and what about Team Rocket eh? Will that have anything to do with Mrs. Sakamoto's rocket? Or how about battling other trainers? Boss fights again?

What about the whole thing about your chara being the sprite that does all the fighting? How would you be able to play as a trainer if your Pokemon are supposed to be doing the fighting? Hey maybe you could edit a weapon so it shoots Pikachus or something... or how about the WEAPON looks like the Pokemon, and the bullets are the attacks? Like a Pikachu-shaped Nemesis that shoots slightly different looking lightning. Or a Charmander-shaped Fireball. Or a Squirtle-shaped Bubbler. It would mean the Pokemon never go farther than a foot from their trainer, but it'd be possible! Yeah... imagine that... the experience and level system fits, then, too!

... wow I cannot believe I just came up with all that.

The main chara is gonna be a poke. And yeah, you just listed out all the ideas I had for the weapons. The only problem I can see is - sound. I can't get the Org player to "pika" or "squirt" (heh) or anything. But I've got a bit of story planned out as well.

Of caurse all this is gonna happen IF I get the hang of modding.

 

Not that hard. Been doing it myself only... one, two weeks so far? The only part that's hard to get used to is TSC, once you've committed some of the more basic commands to memory...

What's your plan for Pokeballs?

 

Dunno. I'm not gonna start on anything until 4 days at least. Fuxorin Xams.

Jessie and James are there in the anime for the fun element IMHO. The real antags are Casiddy and Butch maybe.
