So, back to the theories on what happened to Jenka's dogs...
They are magic. They could be immortal or in disguise. What if the dogs were helping King through the Sand Zone in the background where we couldn't see at the same time Balrog was at Jenka's? Plenty of theory fuel here.

Puppy Story when


Also wow I have a theory!!! There are 3 missing dogs by the end of the game right? There's also a dead dog (Ballos's). My theory: the dogs were killed and used to test the red crytsal. It all makes sense.

4 ravils on the balcony.
4 dead dogs.
The life capsule dog was of course the last to die, but they still kill him before you get on the balcony yeah.

It was never the Collins. So now our new theory is that the two ALIVE dogs we see went down to the surface with the dragon. After their love triangle got resolved and the island was saved, sky dragon died due to being underdeveloped, so they came back up and had kids so they could live with Jenka again. We're finally tying loose ends together!

Where does it say that? I can't remember anything saying anything about batteries in either org CS or CS+.

i think that's flavor text, i don't think cthulhu is legitimately saying you run on batteries.

as for the "it was a mistake on pixel's part", that's great and all, but i believe that fan theories come from what the game results as, not just what the developer intended. the dog is there, so now people theorize about its purpose, because it's fun to do so (moreso than saying "oh, it was just a plothole").
