I recently started a pacafist run out of my own free will, and it's quite hard, specially at the start without the booster 2.0 to cover your mistakes.

I learned quickly that I had to lead monsters to get past certain points, and actually the hardest part so far is the killer door in the first cave. xD

I'm follow theese guide lines:

No killing monsters outside of boss fights.
Boss spawned monsters can be killed.
Missiles can be shot at.

Do the rules seem right?

That's a good idea but there's nothing to stop you from killing the monsters
Unless you edit the npc.tbl so that every single monster that isn't spawned from a boss is invincible
And I thought the door was impossible without killing it cause once I tried talking to it and it just said "!?"

Do the Gaudis around Monster X count as boss-spawned? If not, you're going to have a fun time beating it.
Same question with Misery and Sue during the Undead Core.

I was thinking anything spawned from a boss is killable.

Also, the door isn't exactly a monster, it's a robot thingy.

If you don't want to kill them, don't shoot them, I wont need to code edit to do this. :p

I consider the door as terrain, not an enemy.
So, detstroying the door is alright.
Oh.
I did a pacifist run throught Egg Corridor a LOONG time ago.
And, uh.
By the time I reached the beginning (end), there were 30 bugs swarming me.

Bu-but killing things is fun.
(you are gonna hate hell)
I bet it will be funny to see that the gunsmith say that you used your polar star when you barely used it at all.

Well, maybe he means that my body seems like it got alot of use, i've died 23 times already, second save point in the egg corridor. xD

This is extremely hard without the booster.

I'm fairly good, i've beaten Hell a few times.

It's just hard trying to survive with 30 little flying monsters around you the whole time. o.O

Oh, and I beat the egg corridor, Grasstown isn't as hard considering the enemies fly just a little bit so you can get under them all at once.

I think the idea of a pacifist run is to only kill enemies that are important to story progression. What killing monsters is to a pacifist run should be the same as what gathering items is to a minimal items run.
