New areas in Cave Story 3D?

It seems hard to be angry at Nicalis. I thought they were lazy, but it seems they were just inexperienced, you know? They seem to care about the details a lot more. Or they wanted to before, but couldn't do the basic things well enough.
Anyway, on topic now. This still looks nice.
I wonder if you can explode as a Prinny.

There are a few new facts we can pull from this article:
1. There will be new life capulses, giving you up to 100 hp.
2. There will be multiple new areas.

Edit: Wait I just realized something where would all these new life capules go? I think that they would have to have a few new areas if they wanted to fit them all.

That's the almost same amount of health you could acquire in the regular game (a difference of 2 hp)

scratch that. It's a lot of newhealth. The capsules may very well be frequent, or give you a ton of health.

Someone could always recreate them in the original, even though that would be a lot of work.

 

But the only resemblance between the backgrounds and tilesets is nil. It would be impossible to recreate it as Pixel would have made it.

Hey guys. I just got another game informer magazine. And cave story got itself an article in the preview section. since i cant find scans im gonna quote the most interesting thing the magazine mentions.


"NIS wouldn't confirm if the 2d version is included as well,but did reveal that players can toggle on the 2d character models and that there is a NIS-related bonus in the game (most likely company mascot prinny)."

 

I'm pretty sure both of these were already revealed. The 2D Sprite mode has been confirmed for a while, and I think that Nintendo Power said you can unlock Prinny as a playable character near the end of the game.
