Need help contacting Nicalis - anyone here done so?

I'm sorry to have to break it to you (like how everyone else has been trying to), but chances are they aren't gonna respond. If they do, it will most likely be too late and a waste of breath. While I doubt your assets not good, they sure aren't the best at "listening to the fans".

Coincidentally, I've been trying to contact Nicalis to ask if I could have permission to use the Cave Story mods I've made in my portfolio with credit given where appropriate. Still haven't received any word from them after several months, which is a shame because this is a rather important question; I would hate to be penalized for it just because they neglected to answer.

-it's the most popular mod
-Shmitz works for them (I think)
-I did all I could to help them out in this

Just because Capcom licensed Street Fighter x Mega Man, doesn't mean other game companies are willing to make fan works official content. Just look at Nintendo, they hate fanworks!

Like the others have said, just because a company makes a claim about themselves doesn't mean it's true. They seem to have changed their website, so I can't cite this, but they've in the past described themselves as a company "with a proven track record of releasing the most polished games," which anyone who's played the freeware version of Cave Story and then one of the ports can easily tell you is wrong.

The point still stands that Nicalis has messed up quite a few of the ports in one way or another.

Hayden said that the original is the most polished version. I say that the switch version is. So my point stands. So yes, I was wrong in the original post I made, but the central point stands.

 

I fucking hate NiCALiS personally over just how fucking easy it is to patch both the broken acheivement and the mac port unable to find the data folder (whereas they just took down the mac download instead of fixing it). And yeah 3D is a thing that for some reason exists.

But.... Switch is the definite release. I can't believe I'm saying this but NiCALiS got their shit together and did a great job. Just the other day some guys realized the 2nd player alternate sprites have some very detailed and creative mimiga masks (i.e. if you play as a mimiga you have a eye-mask, booster has glasses over his, etc.), something nobody would thought of or would even notice... Though I'm still considering trying to buy a used copy just because of the bad history with NiCALiS.

Yes, let's get back on-topic. Anyway, NICALiS is terrible at contact. If they could give us a response, we would know why CS+ on mac was never fixed, and why CS+ on PC never got many bug fixes.

Yeah I was just about to reply saying how this should get back on topic. Since OP hasn't posted anything new, I have nothing to reply to.
