Modding Cavestory - Questions

I've looked around a bit, and can't find how to do the following:

~ Open the file which allows me to edit NPC data (damage, ...). I know where the file is, but I can't open it.

~ Use edited .pbm graphics. The game gives an error upon loading with them.

you need a hex editor to edit npc.tbl & to put (28 43 29 50 69 78 65 6C) onto the end of your edited .pbm file witch is why you get an error message

 

Can you reccomend me a good one? I have no experience with hex. codes.

Also, the .pbm files seem to be images. How would I add the code onto the end?

I remain unsure of what to do. I have XVI32 opened with my ArmsImage file. I can see a lot of letters on the left, and corresponding symbols on the right. The bottom line is 672, which ends with: 01 00 3B

Where does 28 43 29 50 69 78 65 6C go? Can you be more specific?

 

"28 43 29 50 69 78 65 6C" goes at the end (after the "01 00 3B"), in the middle collumn.
When you put that in, the right should show (C)Pixel

I got an idea why dont you copy and paste the errorlog.txt(The file it generates when there are errors)On the forum's?BUT Make sure first that you putted (C)Pixel to ALL your eddited images of CS,If there still are errors then yes copy N paste the error's.

 

The errorlog text states the files - I already know which ones. How do I make them work is the question.

It's in Bullet.pbm.

Also, the filesize becomes very small after editing, and ideas why?

No you got it wrong!
You are supposed to uncheck the read only from the file(Right-click and then properties and then uncheck that option)

 

That box already seems to be unchecked on all the files.


~ I have found the solution. I was exporting to Fireworks, which somehow compresses the file. From now on, I'll be using Paint to edit files.
