But yeah, I'm expecting to see some actual competition in the votes next time around since by then we will have gotten through Zarrot's JN which is very recent, and WTF? Story which has a very large fanbase.

Has NO ONE on the face of the earth played Enemy Rush? I know it's pretty old and obscure, but I remember having a lot of fun with that mod. :3

 

I like how the total number of votes in the poll stays the same, but Schism's votes keep going up (whereas other entries like Redesign just now went down). Looks like someone's campaigning for Schism real hard.

I voted for kss, then actually downloaded and checked schism out and decided that I'd rather vote for it (though I do really like kss as well)

WTF only gained 2 votes since this started happening because I asked 2 people I knew to vote.

Honestly though I'd prefer if one of the winners wasn't a mod that's been dead for 2+ years. And Schism is even older/has been dead for longer than WTF.

My criteria, not yours. And a mod being dead or ancient would be less of an issue for me if not for the fact that it has no hope of being finished, unlike the newer entries.

I'm pretty sure they've played some of the mods around here, so their opinion/vote wouldn't be entirely unfounded. And I'm pretty sure 90% of the people who voted haven't played all the mods on the list anyways.

 

Okay fair enough. Still, I don't think we should isolate abandoned mods simply because they probably won't be finished. In that scenario (if I'm understanding you correctly), JNR would rank above the original JN, at least in these modding awards, since JN is abandoned and JNR is finished.

I'm not sure there's actually a scenario that exists where JNR ranks above JN.

Granted, I've never actually played JNR myself, but it's gotten a pretty bad rap, even from yourself.

 

No it's shitty that's the point. What I'm saying is that if they were both nominated, by your criteria JNR should place above JN.
