I'm currently working on a mod called Forgotten life, It's based around the time quote was created, and, among other things, explains why quote can't talk.
I am not abandoning Curly's Adventure, just working on this as well.

PS. Hey, magicdoors, Can you re-upload SadRomance? I want to use it as the title music.

Sadromance? I actually don't have that anymore. I didn't like how it sounded at all and there wasn't really much I could do about it. I didn't think it would fit anywhere in my mods anyway. So I kinda sorta deleted it...
I have a bunch of other orgs if you wanna use one of those for your title screen.

Seems like an interesting premise, I'd like to see how you will handle these reveals and explanations.

That reminds me, I gotta make the In-Progress thread for my mod as well.

Uh, I don't think Quote has a speaking disability. Three years ago, Wedge of Cheese put my thoughts into words better than I can.
The fact that you don't ever hear Quote talk in Cave Story isn't because he never does talk, it's because Pixel wanted to leave what he said to the player's imagination. And he doesn't just respond, either, he actually does initiate conversations. Think of all those times in Cave Story, when you walked up to someone and pressed the down arrow, and started talking to them. It seems like Quote is the one starting the conversation in these situations.
In fact, Quote even speaks a line in Curly mode.

Also, from what I've seen, working on more than one mod generally causes you to abandon one of them. Just saying.

Ok, the mod will NOT show why quote can't talk, because in fact, he can.

OK, Better idea then before:
You start after the bad ending, and you find ma pignnon and restore your memories with him, and realize that before you lost your memories, you were searching for something in the first cave, and then something happened to you in the start point that made you lose your memories.
So you have to go back, AFTER the doctor has taken over the island...
