Im not the best Hacker and i was wondering if anyone could make a mod where you get a weapon like the blade (only weapon) that has just about no range

The whole mod is that you play Cave Story as per normal just that the Blade has no range?

Bad idea.

Just learn some hexadecimal and you can easily edit the range with a hex editor.

as long as the attack delay is good enough, why'd you call this a bad idea?

But I think CS just can't mix with melee

Nope it wasn't.

I don't think it was.

And its a bad idea because he's just using everything of CS while changing the Blade's range, thats only what I inferred though

A melee weapon in CS? Quote gets a fricken blade, and throws it!
There are no melee weapons in CS,ever.
Haven't I heard this before...?

I tried to make a mod where you had only a melee weapon and at level 3 it did 127 damage, but I don't know what values I should edit the weapon's damage (can't explain, basically does normal damage on 1 and 2, but at level 3 I don't know what to put in for 127)

FF?

127 seems rediculously overpowered though. Lv2 blade is pretty close to a "melee" weapon, especially the way I tend to use it, and I have no trouble doing most levels with just the lv2 blade.

It's 127 in decimal, but in hex it's 7F. Look – only two digits! :rolleyes:

So it's a signed value... 80 is probably equivalent to -256 damage, or full healing (at least for non-boss enemies).
