Itoh thinks I'm still a robot?! (Cavestory on PC)

I played through to the point where you get to first see Itoh and talked to Itoh. After then getting arrested, breaking out of prison and getting in the hideout, I got the mimiga mask. However, when I entered again, he said the same thing as when you first meet him! When I talk to him he says

"No, no. Surely you have no use for such a pathetic, stranded, little man."

I've talked to him 10+ times and he stills says the same thing. I also went back to the hideout and talked to Momo again, but to no avail.

I saved too recently to die and try again.

Has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone know how to fix it?


Otherwise... time to start over... Nyahhh....

Sorry to ask such an obvious question, buuut... Have you gotten the sprinkler yet? You didn't mention it in your post. You talk to Itoh after you bring the sprinkler to Momorin.

 

Also you have to get the controller from Momorin first.
Nevermind you get it from Itoh.

I think he's saying the issue is that Itoh still says he's a robot.

I'm fairly sure this is not a game-breaking glitch, for as far as I am aware, Cave Story has no game-breaking glitches.

Please don't restart your game, it'll just cause you unnecessary grief.

 

Well, it worked. Itoh stills goes "eyyyahh" every time I enter the room but he still made me the controller. Weird glitch as of now ^^
