Is it possible to make new Cave Story game without modding?

Now, I don't mean via Game Maker, I'm just curious if it's possible to make a game with qualities similar to Cave Story via C++, or Java. I mean, same character functions, same weapon functions, same everything but it is in a file different than the original game.

no, it's literally impossible. nxengine doesn't actually exist.

Yeah, It's most definitely possible. (Nox is just being a jerk :P)

But you need a lot of skill and patience like any other project that's modding related.

Cave story was made using C++ (I'm pretty sure)

Just use that, It only takes a few years to learn

Ok, cool. I'm gonna major in Computer Systems Engineering in college anyway so that would make some great practice for me meanwhile. :pignon:
