Yeah I think it's that. I need to get a fresh new cave story folder. Edit: Reinstalled, and no problems now. :D Thank you very much for making this lace!

Q: What happens to the original <EQ+0064? Does it still affect it, or is it completely nulled out?

Ah, FUCK.
First ASM hacking, and now some other Shit named TSC commands! So... nevermind. I just realized i've been doing this since the beginning of the game, I think... Isn't it that junk in the script editor, right? (I cuss a lot...)

Yes, it's really simple. just use the "<MIM" command followed by four numbers. 0000 is the first set of quote sprites.

The past 2 hours have been fulfilled. T.T version 0.0.4 here we come! Thanks!
So... I typed in <MIM into the script of my game and it isn't an actual command :(
What am I doing wrong here?

Did you install this hack? and also boosters lab and cave editor claims it's not a command by saying "Errors in syntax, are you sure you want to save?".

Okay, so I applied the first part to 004154B8... and it tells me unrecognized identifier...
I don't wanna get a whole new game though, I'm trying to apply this to my mod.
Alright... I copied it from the binary of the mod, so you put <MIM0001 to give yourself the Monica's mask, right? Let's test it.
Tried it and it crashes as soon as I start the game. Well, I'm pretty PO'd. What's wrong now?
Damn auto correct made it say Monica!

If you still have trouble, send me your .exe, I'll do it for you

The archive is damaged?
You know, you don't have to archive it at all.
Just give me the .exe...

Will anything break if I apply the hack to 0x425149 instead of 0x424eaf? Was there any reason this was changed?

It will break <XX1 if you put it there.

It was changed to use "free" space instead of an already existing command for obvious reasons.

Don't have the same free space.

I've tried moving it to 0x4937F4 instead, but I can't get it working. Everything looks identical to the sample EXE as far as jumps, and I've tried both JMPs and JNEs and it simply crashes when I try to run the command.

EDIT: I've tried using the flags themselves instead of inserting the <MIM command, and it seems to work fine that way.

So I noticed this doesn't seem to affect the Quote NPC, or things like teleporting...
